What is a Mini Blind?

The long horizontal slats are held one above the other by the rungs of ladder cords shaped like a ladder. The lower ends of the legs of the ladder cords are secured to the long rail under the slats. Their upper ends are attached to the drive rod in the housing, the elongated box above the slats. As the drive rod rotates, one leg of each ladder cord moves up while the other moves down, causing the angle of the slats to change. In one design, this rotation is achieved by pushing up or pulling down on a long handle called a tilt wand connected to the drive rod by a lever. Lift cords along the ladder cords are also attached to the rail. They pass through holes in the slats and into the housing above, where they go over pulleys, combine and exit through the cord lock. For safety it’s important that the lock always work. A downward pull on the main lift cord raises the slats by the cords pulling up the rail below the slats. The cord lock holds the main lift cord to keep the slats up until the cord is pulled to release the lock. The safety lock made the cord lock easier to use.

Make a Case For a Promotion in a Promotion Cover Letter

Are you ready to move up in the company you work for? Then a great tool might be a promotion cover letter. Approach your supervisor or boss with a focused and clear letter written in a friendly manner, that outlines in detail why you’d be the ideal candidate for a promotion. For example, suppose you’re a sales rep and there is an opening in the company for a sales manager. With your experience and expertise you could easily step into this position. Make a case for that move in a well-written promotion cover letter which you can present to your superior. All promotion cover letters should focus more on what you can do for the company than what it can do for you.

Relationship between resultant force at the pushrim and the net shoulder joint moments during manual wheelchair propulsion in elderly persons

OBJECTIVE: To determine the relationship between the resultant force at the pushrim and the net shoulder joint moments during manual wheelchair propulsion in elderly persons. DESIGN: Convenience sample. SETTING: Motion analysis laboratory. PARTICIPANTS: Older manual wheelchair users (N=14; age, 68.2+/-5.2y) were tested. INTERVENTIONS: Kinematic and kinetic data were collected during manual wheelchair propulsion at a speed between 0.96 and 1.01m/s for 10 seconds and at a power output around 22.4W on a medicare power wheelchairs ergometer. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Net shoulder joint moments were computed with an inverse dynamic model. The mechanical use of the forces at the pushrim and the mechanical fraction of effective force were measured during propulsion. RESULTS: Mechanical use and mechanical fraction of effective force had a positive and handicap scooters significant correlation with the net internal (P<.05) and external (P<.001) shoulder rotation moment, the net flexion (P<.05), and extension (P<.001) moment in the sagittal plane, and the net flexion (P<.001) moment in the horizontal plane. CONCLUSIONS: The results suggest that because the resultant force at the pushrim has a greater tangential component and a greater proportion of the maximal voluntary force, most of the net moments around the shoulder are higher. Thus the optimal way of propelling, from a mechanical point of view (ie, tangential), may not be advantageous for manual wheelchair users

Blind Measuring Requirements

In situations where the contractor will be installing window blinds and the agency needs assistance in performing measurements, it is the obligation of the contractor to take on-site measurements. Requests for on-site measurements should be forwarded to the contractor in writing, with the using agencys purchase order number, to be confirmed once the actual measurements are complete and the estimate finalized. A purchase order should result in all instances, unless the estimate exceeds budgetary allowances. Any abuse of this service by agencies should be reported to the contract administrator.

All requests for measurements should be made in written form by the using agency. The State will not be responsible for and misunderstandings that results from oral requests.

New Venetian Blind Created

RADIANCE is description of a set of new venetian discount blinds. The depth of the window blinds (X dimension) is given first, followed by the width (Y dimension), followed by the height (Z dimension). The number of slats to place evenly within this height is given as nslats. The angle of the blind, where zero is perfectly horizontal and a positive angle tilts the positive X edge upwards, is given in degrees. The custom blinds are initially situated so that the corner of the bottom blind isheight/nslats/2 above the XY plane, and all coordinates are positive. Each new slat is placed height/nslats above the previous one, until the top slat is at height - height/nslats/2 . The discount blinds may of course be moved from this starting point with the xform(1) command.
