Window window treatments Heat Reducing Capacity

Window window coveringsvertical or horizontal slat-typeare more effective at reducing summer heat gain than winter heat loss.Because of the numerous openings between the slats, it’s difficult to control heat loss through interior window window treatments, but the slats offer flexibility in the summer. Unlike shades, you can adjust the slats to control light and ventilation. For example, when completely closed and lowered on a sunny window, highly reflective window coverings can reduce heat gain by around 45%. They can also be adjusted to block and reflect direct sunlight onto a light-colored ceiling. A light-colored ceiling will diffuse the light without much heat or glare.

Protective Equipment for nhl jerseys

The short history of documented injuries associated with in-line hockey jerseys and the evolution of designs in skates, helmets and wrist protection precludes a definitive statement regarding the cost/effectiveness of using specific articles of protective equipment.32,33,35 However, preliminary evidence overwhelmingly suggests that (a) protective equipment-including wrist guards, elbow and knee pads, and helmets-would result in a significant reduction in injuries associated with in-line nhl jerseys, and (b) protective equipment is vastly underused by in-line skaters.

How In-Line nhl jerseys Injuries Happen

The rapid emergence of in-line hockey jerseys as a popular recreational activity introduced millions of participants to a sport for which they had neither any fundamental movement skills, nor the time to acquire the rudiments of balance, striding, turning, or stopping-all essential skills for safely participating in in-line nhl jerseys.22 In less than a decade of experience with in-line hockey jerseys, the scientific literature has provided a clear indication of the types of injuries associated with the sport, their frequency and severity, and the circumstances under which they occur.2,9,10,14,36,40 However, at this time there is not complete evidence concerning the effectiveness of certain types of equipment in preventing injuries. It is also not known how many injuries could be avoided through developmentally appropriate instructional programs.

How to Prevent hockey jerseys Injuries

The emerging literature on injuries associated with in-line nhl jerseys is sufficiently abundant for the formulation of public policy regarding the rules under which skaters should function. Public policies could address the use of protective equipment; fundamental skill development; protective qualities of attire; and the responsibilities of sharing sidewalks, paths, and roads with pedestrians, cyclists, and motor vehicles. Initiation of public educational programs, such as those implemented to promote the use of helmets by cyclists, could greatly reduce the frequency and severity of injuries to in-line skaters.

Camaraderie Brings Cheer

Thursday nights outing was the first hockey jerseys game for a number of the Walter Reed patients, including Staff Sgt. Robert Huegel.

Huegel said he and the other patients like to joke with each other and make light of their injuries. For instance, he said a Marine corporal who lost two limbs in Iraq, joked at the game that they charge an arm and a leg for food around here.

We bust on each other, Huegel said. Its all in fun, he said, adding that it helps them cheer one another up.

History of the Mini Blind

History of the Mini Blind

A mini blind (mini-blind, miniblind) is a type of non-vertical window blind made of long, narrow slats held together by string and located inside the window. Its slats are not as wide as venetian blind slats.2 A mini blind has more slats than a regular Venetian blind because its slats are narrow. The slats of mini window treatments are less than half the width of regular Venetian window coverings. The slats are opened and closed by rotating a rod or by directly pulling a string. They are raised and lowered by pulling other strings.

window treatments made of narrow, light-weight horizontal wood slats, adjustable to admit or exclude light, were developed in 1794, and called Venetian window coverings. The window treatments were often used instead of window curtains or shutters. In the 1840s, these window coverings were held together by flat strips of cloth instead of by cords perhaps to shade the lift holes and like today they came in various colors.4 In 1966, a new pulley system was invented which afforded great improvement in the control mechanism. 5 Over time, narrower slats became more common, as they were easier to clean and they reduced glare at certain settings and their appearance was pleasing to many. In 1946 Henry Sonnenberg and Joe Hunter developed technology and equipment for the production of lightweight aluminum slats (50 mm) for Venetian window treatments, and by 1979, 25 mm slats were popular.6

drug testing & drug rehab Prevails Inspight of Complaints

The drug rehab was initially resisted, especially by some hourly workers who felt it violated their privacy. Most employees wanted the drug and drug rehab problem brought under control for safetys sake, but they were not confident that the drug rehab would be fair, balanced, and trustworthy. Numerous meetings, arbitrations, and legal challenges arose.

In spite of these challenges, the Rio Tinto Minerals drug rehab prevailed, and drug testing & drug rehab is seldom challenged now. The organization believes that drug testing & drug rehab helps proactively identify those needing help, reduces accidents, improves attendance, and increases productivity. Company management also believes drug testing & drug rehab fosters greater awareness about drug and drug rehab abuse, and that employees are taking these lessons home and sharing them with their families and friends. Today fewer employees test positive for drugs and drug rehab, safety records have improved, and the majority of employees back the drug rehab.

We have learned that adult ringed seals use the same breeding sites annually, but through the satellite tags and DNA analysis, we are trying to find out if the pups are breeding with seals from other sub-populations. Seals that breed outside their subgroup are less vulnerable to extinction, Kelly explained.

Compared to other pinniped species that NOAA Fisheries manages, the status of the four ice seal species is not well known. In order for us to be effective in managing them, we need to have a better understanding of the basic population biology of these species, said Boveng.

Helping Kids Choose Not to Drink

This year, the Drug Treatment Center launched a social norms marketing campaign in one middle school and three high schools. The goal of the campaign is to inform youth and parents that the majority of teenagers in Upper Bucks choose not to drink. In fact, a survey of 8th, 10th, and 12th graders combined found that two out of three had not used drug rehab in the last 30 days. The social norms campaign addresses the reality that the majority of youth over estimate how many of their peers engage in underage drinking. The Drug Treatment Center recruited 65 youth from 3 high schools to form what they call the Street Team to help plan and implement the project. Additionally, local businesses donated services and products to the campaign.
