Credit Scores and Credit Cards

On your credit card statements you may have noticed that it is easier to read and things are more well defined. One of the things that is shown more clearly is the APR rate that you get charged for interest on your card. It also tries to encourage you to pay off your credit card bill by putting a line in there that tells you how many years it will take to pay off your credit card debt if you only pay the minimum.

It is because of this government regulation called the Credit Card Act of 2009. This has an impact on the credit scoring companies as well.

It’s important that you get a handle on your credit reports free credit score. It’s important that you get a handle on your credit score and credit reporting so that everything is accurate.

Your credit score can lie between the two figures of 300 to 850. With the credit card act, the regulation is trying to minimize credit card debt and with this it helps increase credit scores across the board. Also with having a better credit score, you will be more likely to get loans and have a better interest rate.

I would strongly advise everyone to get a free credit score check online for it. The average credit score is around 600 so if you can get something anywhere over 700 then you are in good shape.

The earlier you start the better. Even if you are still in school, you can get a student loan credit score. Because nobody else will do it for you, you should make sure your credit report is up to par.
